Somas Activia wint in Roosendaal
SINT ANTHONIS – In Roosendaal traden de tweede-divisie volleybaldames van Somas Activia aan voor hun eerste competitiewedstrijd zonder coach Kersten Verhoeven. De Sint-Tunnisse meiden brachten het er uitstekend vanaf dankzij een 1-3 overwinning.
Voorafgaand aan de wedstrijd hadden de Roosendaalsen negen punten, de Sint-Tunnissen twaalf. Het was dus belangrijk te winnen van de West-Brabantsen om te voorkomen dat ze op de ranglijst naast of boven Somas Activia kwamen te staan. Aan die opdracht werd prima voldaan. De eerste set ging direct dik naar de gasten met 18-25. Vervolgens schakelde Roosendaal een tandje bij; dit resulteerde in een spannende slotfase, waarbij de thuisspelende ploeg uiteindelijk met 26-24 aan het langste eind trok. Met 20-25 stelde Somas Activia daarna weer orde op zaken. Het werd nog even spannend of er een vijfsetter uit zou rollen, maar gelukkig wisten de Sint-Tunnisse dames in de vierde set bijtijds het set- en matchpoint te scoren op 24-26, zodat de vier punten in de pocket waren.
Somas Activia staat nu vierde op de ranglijst. Zaterdag spelen de dames thuis tegen het als laatste geklasseerde Next Volley uit Dordrecht. Die wedstrijd moet dus weer de nodige punten opleveren.
